Ginger Beef with Broccoli:
Grass Fed Beef
Broccoli
Scallions
Tamari
Ginger
Garlic
Sesame Oil
I minced fresh ginger and mixed it with 5Tbsp tamari, minced garlic, and 2tsp of sesame oil. I let the beef marinate overnight in this mixture.
Today, I chopped up some broccoli, scallions, and minced some more ginger.
First, I added some of the marinate into the pan with a bit of water. I added in all of my veggies and let them steam up.
Once the veggies were almost ready, I added the meat, and in no time flat, I had a wonderful one pot meal!
The rest of my menu for the week includes a chicken curry with red cabbage and red peppers, and a pork roast cooked with apples and sauerkraut.
Hey there. I'm a fellow New Jersey-ite transplanted out here in Pasadena, CA. I found you guys yesterday when I googled "crossfit paleo zone" and this was one of the sites that came up. Your recipes sound so great so I just made this ginger beef w/ broccoli recipe you posted. It was delish! I just wanted to add that I browned the beef first, took it out of the pan, then steamed the veggies & tossed in some sesame seeds just b/c I like 'em then stirred the beef back in at the end. I was just wondering why it looks like a lot of liquid in the marinade in the photo above for the measurements provided. I used about 1 pound of beef with 5 tbsp tamari & left the oil til I stir fried. It looked like a lot less liquid when I made it. Thank you for the great recipe idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the recipe! Browning the beef first would probably make this even better! I'm not sure why it looks like a lot of liquid, it was made using the measurements (I don't think that I had a whole pound of beef either, maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of a pound, so that would make a difference as well)...I think I might just have really pushed all of the meat together in the bowl so it looks like more...I promise there wasn't. If you have any good paleo zone recipes, post them to comments, I would love to have a varitety of recipes to cook from.
Hi again Alyson,
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy to share any good recipes I try. One website I like that has good paleo recipes (besides this one of course!) is http://www.eatmovethrive.blogspot.com/ which you may already know but just in case, here's the address. Certainly I'll post any specific ones which I make that turn out well. Next I'll attempt the coconut chicken fingers (looks delish and easy) that are posted here. A friend make coconut shrimp w this method & said it worked great so chicken makes a lot of sense. Thank you again. best, Sandy
